How to Survive the Summer Heat

When summer is around the corner you can actually feel it prickling your skin. There is a vast amount of heat and that could be a problem to any human being who is not used and design for that. There is a slew of health problems when too much heat is practically on the air. Good thing that there is a whole lot of things you can do to make sure you don’t have a heat stroke.

  • Conditioning  

If you’ll be staying in your house most of the time, make sure your air conditioning unit is working well. If it is acting funny or it just doesn’t cut it when you want a cool place to lounge around call a contractor for AC repair immediately. Your air conditioning unit doesn’t have to work as hard as it is working to keep you cool if you know what is wrong with it and make the necessary adjustments and reinforcements for it to work wonders for you.  

  • Clothes  

During the hot days avoid wearing dark to black colors. This colors absorb the heat in the atmosphere making you feel hotter than usual. Instead wear something light both in colors and fabric. The fabric should also be able to make your skin breathe so that you won’t be trapping body heat for long. White is the perfect color that doesn’t absorb heat as much but you can always play it up with pastel. Don’t worry about looking like a highlighter worry about how you would feel instead in a very hot day.   

  • Drinks  

During the hot days it is important for you to always drink a lot of water to cool down and to avoid dehydration. That would not do you and your skin any good. You can spice it up with a little cold lemonade or teas depending on your taste and go to drink. Although in the end water is good enough and a lot healthier for you.   

  • Swim  

What other perfect way to stay cool than be in cool waters all day long. Just make sure to put on sunscreen because although your skin is cold because of the water, it will still get sunburned. You don’t want to get sunburned besides that it hurts it would take away and put a damper on the whole fun things for a while. 

  • Know when to stay away from the sun  

A little longer in the title because it is more like a reminder. Throughout the day, when the sun isn’t so hot you can go out and enjoy some activities you can think of under the sun. However, when the heat starts to bite find a shade and cool off. Know when you should retreat from the scathing heat, it is to protect yourself and well- being from getting all the heat related sickness that could happen. So, no matter how fun the game if you need to rest under the shade do it.
